Reports
Currencies and time zone in reports
Reports add up only one currency at a time, the Reporting currency (your organization’s by default), and show the others separately, with no currency conversion. Days are counted in your organization’s time zone; an ad account in another time zone is excluded from totals.
Currencies
- Each sale keeps its own currency, and each ad account spends in its own currency.
- When there’s more than one currency, the Overview, Campaigns and UTM and links screens show the Reporting currency selector, with the spend for each currency next to it.
- Anything in another currency shows up in a notice: “… in … accounts is excluded from these totals,” with the View in … button, or “Also in other currencies: …” below revenue.
- There’s no currency conversion: dollars and euros are never added together.
Example (sample data)
Example Co. has one ad account in US dollars (spend $4,000) and another in euros (spend €500), and sells in both currencies. With the reporting currency set to USD, ROAS uses only the dollar spend and dollar sales; the notice shows the €500 excluded from totals. Clicking View in EUR redoes the whole screen in euros.
Time zone
Your organization’s time zone defines where each day starts and ends in reports, goals, alerts and the daily digest. It’s chosen at sign-up and can be changed in Settings › Operations, on the Region and language card. When you change it, “Reports will be recalculated in the new time zone; this may take a few minutes.” See region, language, time zone and currency.
Ad account with a different time zone or currency
Meta delivers daily spend in the ad account’s time zone. If that time zone is different from your organization’s, the days don’t line up, and that account’s spend is excluded from totals. The dashboard warns you:
- In Settings › Integrations, in the ad account list, with the Different time zone or Currency … badge.
- In the footer of the analytics screens: “N accounts excluded from totals: different currency/time zone,” with View integrations.
- In the Account filter, where these accounts show up disabled.
- In the Overview: “N paid traffic leads excluded from CPL (no synced ad or account excluded from totals).”
An account in another currency comes back into the numbers when you pick that currency in the report. An account in another time zone only counts if you use, in Meta, an account in the same time zone as your organization.
Didn’t work? See…
- One account’s spend disappeared from the totals: ad account excluded from totals.
- Revenue is lower than the total of your sales: part of it is in another currency; look for the “Also in other currencies” notice.
- A day is “cut” in the middle: check your organization’s time zone in Settings › Operations.
