Filters, periods and comparison in Analytics

Updated

Every Analytics screen has a filter bar at the top. The default is 7 days, with Compare on and the Cohort reading. You can change the period, filter by platform, account, campaign, salesperson, source and number, and choose how charts are grouped.

Step by step

  1. Pick the period

Click the period and choose a preset (Today, 7 days, This month…) or Custom, with From and To.

  2. Turn comparison on or off

With Compare on, each number shows its change versus the previous period of the same length.

  3. Add filters

Under Filters, choose Platform, Account, Campaign, Salesperson, Source or Number. Each active filter becomes a chip you can remove with one click.

  4. Adjust the reading and grouping

Choose Cohort or Event date under Reading and, in the Overview, how charts are grouped under Group charts.

Periods

The preset periods are: Today, Yesterday, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, 90 days, This month, Last month and 12 months. Under Custom, you pick From and To, up to 400 days and no later than today. Days start and end in your organization’s time zone.

With Compare on, the dashboard compares against the period right before, of the same length: 7 days against the 7 days before them. For “Today,” the comparison is with yesterday up to the same time. Changes in rates (CTR, no-show rate…) are shown in percentage points (pp).

Available filters

FilterWhat it does
PlatformOnly data from one ad platform (currently, Meta).
AccountOne or more ad accounts. Accounts excluded from totals show up disabled, with “Different time zone” or “Different currency.”
CampaignOne or more campaigns, with the status next to the name.
SalespersonLeads from one or more salespeople. There’s also a “No salesperson” option.
SourcePaid traffic, Organic, Outbound or Legacy.
NumberLeads from one or more WhatsApp numbers.
ResponderOnly on the Service screen: who replied to the conversations.

Filters are stored in the URL: you can bookmark the address or send it to another manager to open the same view.

What changes when you filter by salesperson or number

Spend belongs to the campaign, not the salesperson. When you filter by salesperson or number, the dashboard allocates spend by share of paid leads (the “Allocated cost”) and notes it in the footer: “Spend allocated by the paid leads of the filtered salesperson or number.” Metrics that can’t be split, like impressions and clicks, show “—” with the tip “Media metrics can’t be split by salesperson or number.”

If you filter only the Organic or Outbound source, all media shows as Not applicable, because those leads don’t come from ads.

Group charts

In the Overview, Group charts lets you pick automatic, By hour, By day, By week or By month. Grouping by hour only works for periods of up to 31 days.

Example (sample data)

Example Co.’s manager wants to know how much each of salesperson Ana’s meetings cost last month. He picks Last month, filters Salesperson: Ana and sees: Allocated cost $900, Meetings held 12, Cost per meeting $75. To compare with the whole team, he removes the filter chip.

Didn’t work? See…

  • I don’t see the account, campaign or salesperson filter: these filters are for managers only. Salespeople only see their own numbers (managers only).
  • An account is disabled in the filter: it’s excluded from totals because of its time zone or currency (account excluded from totals).
  • “Hourly data only for the last … days”: hourly media data has limited retention; group by day.

Frequently asked questions

Is the filter I picked saved?
