Campaign alerts and daily email digest

Updated

In Analytics › Alerts, managers create rules like CPL above limit, Spend without leads and Active without delivery, and get notified in the dashboard and by email. The Daily email digest arrives every day with yesterday’s numbers compared with the day before.

Step by step

  1. Open alerts

In Analytics › Alerts, click New rule.

  2. Choose the type and condition

For example, CPL above limit: level (account, campaign or ad set), amount, currency and window (Today, Last 3 days or Last 7 days).

  3. Choose who gets it

Check Email in addition to In the app, pick the recipients (managers) and how often to resend.

  4. Create the rule

Click Create rule. Rules are evaluated every 5 minutes.

Rule types

RuleWhen it notifies
CPL above limitThe cost per paid lead of an account, campaign or ad set went over the limit in the window (Today, Last 3 days or Last 7 days). Optional: Minimum spend to evaluate.
Spend without leadsSpend at or above an amount in the last synced hours (1 to 48 h) without a single paid lead in the same interval.
Active without deliveryAn active campaign, ad set or ad with no impressions or spend for a few hours (2 to 72 h).
Integration problemSystem rule: an integration has an invalid or expired credential.
WhatsApp disconnectedSystem rule: a number stayed disconnected longer than the grace period.

System rules come ready and can’t be deleted; you can turn them off and change channels, recipients and resend. For now, at the ad set level you can’t pick specific ad sets: the rule follows every ad set of the synced accounts.

Rules that come pre-created

  • CPL above limit: per campaign, for today, with a limit of 80 and a minimum spend of 80 in your organization’s currency.
  • Spend without leads: per campaign, over the last 3 h, with a minimum spend of 30 in your organization’s currency.
  • Active campaign without delivery for 6 h, created when an ad account is connected.

These amounts were set with Brazilian reais in mind, so the two rules with amounts only start turned on if your organization’s currency is BRL. In any other currency, they’re created turned off, with the same numbers in your currency: adjust the amounts, then turn them on. A rule only compares against spend in its own currency.

An alert’s lifecycle

An alert stays Open while the condition is happening and shows up in the event list and as a notice on the screen. While it’s open and not acknowledged, it’s resent at most once per the interval you chose (from 5 minutes to 7 days; 60 minutes by default). Acknowledge stops the resends and shows the team who’s handling it. When the condition stops happening, it becomes Resolved on its own. Under Details, you see what triggered it (spend, paid leads, CPL, window) and the timeline.

If the ad account has no hourly data, the alert uses the whole day and shows the Approximate badge.

Daily email digest

It’s on by default, at 8 a.m. in your organization’s time zone, for all active managers (or for the recipients you choose). It includes, for yesterday versus the day before: Spend, Leads, Paid leads, CPL, Meetings held, Cost per meeting, First response (median) and SLA breaches; the 3 campaigns with the highest spend; warnings about accounts excluded from totals; and up to 10 open alerts, with the View the dashboard link. Each person gets it in their own language. Use Preview to see yesterday’s email without sending anything; change the time and recipients and click Save digest.

Example (sample data)

Example Co. turned on the Spend without leads rule (3 h, minimum spend $30). At 10 a.m., one of its campaigns spends $35 in 3 hours without a single paid lead. Within 5 minutes the alert opens and reaches the manager by email. She sees the ad was rejected, fixes it in Meta and clicks Acknowledge. When leads start coming in again, the alert resolves on its own.
