Funnel and operations
Organization region, language, time zone and currency
In Settings › Operations, Region and language card, the manager sets the organization’s Time zone, Default currency, Country and Default language and clicks Save region. These apply to the whole team. Each person can still pick their own language in the user menu.
Step by step
Open Operations
Go to Settings › Operations and scroll down to Region and language.
Adjust the fields
Choose the Time zone (you can search, e.g. “New York”), the Default currency, the Country and the Default language.
Save
Click Save region. When changing the time zone, confirm with Change time zone.
What each field changes
| Field | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Time zone | The days and times in reports, goals, alerts, the daily digest and meetings. “Today” and “yesterday” follow this time zone. |
| Default currency | The reporting currency when nobody picks another, and the currency preselected when recording a sale. |
| Country | The phone format (how a number without a country code is read), plus number and date formats. |
| Default language | The dashboard language for people who haven’t picked their own: Português (Brasil), Español or English. |
These values are chosen at sign-up, under Region and currency, and can be changed here at any time.
Changing the time zone
When you change the time zone, the dashboard warns: “Reports will be recalculated in the new time zone; this may take a few minutes.” Daily and hourly numbers shift to match the new time zone.
Watch out for ad accounts: spend comes from Meta in the ad account’s time zone. An account in a different time zone from the organization’s is excluded from totals, with the “Different time zone” warning. See Currencies and time zone in reports and Ad account excluded from totals.
Currency: no conversion
TraceClose never converts currencies. Reports add up only the currency chosen in the report (the default one, unless someone changes it) and show the others separately. Changing the default currency doesn’t affect sales already recorded: each sale keeps its own currency.
Personal language
Each person can choose their own dashboard language in the user menu, under Language: Follow the organization, Português (Brasil), Español or English. Emails like the daily digest go out in the recipient’s language.
Example
Example with fictional data. Example Co. opened a branch in Mexico. In that organization, the manager sets the Mexico City time zone, the Mexican peso (MXN) currency, Mexico as the country and Español as the language. The Mexican salespeople see the dashboard in Spanish, phone numbers typed without a country code are read as Mexican and sales start out in MXN. The Brazilian manager who also uses this organization picks Português (Brasil) in their own menu.
Didn’t work? See…
- I don’t see the Region and language card: Settings is for managers and owners only. See Managers only.
- Spend disappeared from reports after changing the time zone: the ad account ended up in a different time zone. See Ad account excluded from totals.
- The report shows amounts in another currency separately: that’s expected, there’s no exchange rate. See Currencies and time zone.
