Getting started

Initial setup: what to do on day one

Updated

After signup, the Initial setup wizard walks you through five steps: Company, WhatsApp, Meta, Team and Finish. Anything you skip stays on the dashboard’s Getting started card, with six tasks, so you can finish whenever you want.

Step by step

  1. Company

Check the Operation name, the Industry and the Region and language (country, time zone, currency and default language). Click Save and continue.

  2. WhatsApp

Enter a Connection name (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens), click Generate QR code and scan it with your business phone. Once it connects, you’ll see WhatsApp connected.

  3. Meta

Click Connect, paste your BM token and choose the ad accounts. The first sync can take a few minutes; you can keep going in the meantime.

  4. Team

Fill in each person’s Email and Role, use Add another for more rows and click Send invitations.

  5. Finish

See what’s still pending and click Go to the overview.

Skipping steps and coming back later

No step is required. Each one has Skip for now, and at the top there’s Set up later, which closes the wizard and takes you to the dashboard. Anything you left behind stays on the checklist. To reopen the wizard, use Resume setup on the getting started card.

The WhatsApp and Meta steps require a confirmed email. If you haven’t confirmed yet, the wizard shows a notice with Resend email and an I’ve confirmed it button. See How to confirm your email.

You can only change the industry in the wizard while there are no leads in the funnel. After that, you change it in Settings › Segment, with a preview of where each lead will go.

The “Getting started” checklist

On the management home screen, the Getting started card shows six tasks and your progress (for example, “3 of 6 done”):

  1. Confirm your email: unlocks the integrations.
  2. Connect WhatsApp: so conversations come into the inbox.
  3. Connect Meta: spend, cost per lead and return for each campaign.
  4. Review the funnel: check the stages and click Looks good.
  5. Invite your salespeople: the only task you can Skip, handy if you handle sales on your own.
  6. Create your first tracked link: so you know where every lead that comes in through a link came from.

Tasks check themselves off when you do the action anywhere in the dashboard. Done, or don’t want to see the card anymore? Click Dismiss: the card goes away and everything you’ve already done still counts.

Example: Example Co.’s first afternoon

In one afternoon, Example Co. (fictional data) confirmed its email, connected the number sales-1, linked its BM with two ad accounts, invited two salespeople (john@example.com and maria@example.com) and left the tracked link for the next day. The checklist stood at 5 of 6, and the next day all that was left was to create the link in Settings › Tracked links.

Who sees the wizard

The wizard only opens for whoever created the organization (owner or manager). People who join by invite go straight to the dashboard, and salespeople don’t see the checklist. On any screen, the Help for this screen link opens the matching article in this help center.

Frequently asked questions

I closed the wizard by accident. How do I get back?

On the dashboard’s Getting started card, click Resume setup. The wizard opens on the step where you left off.

Do I have to do everything on day one?

No. Anything you skip stays on the checklist. But reports only show where your leads come from once WhatsApp and Meta are connected.
